Gunfight in Doda District of Jammu and Kashmir

A brief gunfight occurred between security forces and terrorists in a forest area of Doda district, Jammu and Kashmir, on Monday. According to a police spokesperson, the exchange of fire took place in the Desa forest area. Further details are eagerly awaited, as per the latest statement released tonight.

Security Forces’ Response and Operation Details

Security sources reported that the encounter ensued when Rashtriya Rifles and Special Operations Group of Jammu and Kashmir Police launched a cordon and search operation in the Bhagwah forest area around 7.45 pm. The operation was based on reliable intelligence indicating the presence of terrorists. Security forces have deployed reinforcements to strengthen the cordon.

Sources indicated that the firing lasted briefly, and they announced that search operations would suspend for the night and resume early Tuesday morning.
